THE DANCING FAUN
If the Minotaur is imprisoned energy, the Faun is reconciled energy. If the labyrinth is tension, dance is rhythm.
The Dancing Faun is not a simple archaeological reproduction; it is a passage. It is the moment in which Asterione steps out of the labyrinth and discovers that the world is not a prison, but a rhythm. Originating from the celebrated original discovered in Pompeii, the focus here is not the museum — it is the gesture.
He is naked, possessing nothing yet having everything. His nudity is not lack; it is fullness. His inclined posture, lifted arm, and open expression speak of a freedom that has been earned. He is pure presence, the image of the “second day”: the day when one no longer needs to cling in order to feel whole.
This bronze sculpture derives from a historic mold produced at the beginning of the twentieth century by the renowned Fonderia Artistica Chiurazzi of Naples. Each piece carries not only the legacy of antiquity, but also the memory of the European Grand Tour and the transmission of classical art.
Proudly Designed, Developed and Manufactured in Italy
The unique patina is achieved through a meticulous handcrafted process. The bronze is heated over fire and manually treated with nitric acid and copper applied by brush. The final color emerges from an unrepeatable dialogue between material, heat, and human gesture — making every single cast subtly unique.
