THE KISS OF MEDUSA
What was once feared as deadly becomes a gateway to transformation. Medusa does not petrify — she reveals.
The Kiss of Medusa reinterprets the classical myth beyond the traditional narrative of heroism and decapitation. Instead of depicting violence, the sculpture captures an intimate and suspended moment: a kiss.
The work transforms the myth from a story of monstrosity and punishment into an image of reconciliation. Medusa is no longer merely the Gorgon whose gaze petrifies, but an archetypal figure of wounded beauty, power, and transformative darkness. Perseus does not conquer — he encounters.
Executed in bronze using the traditional lost-wax casting technique, the sculpture presents a dynamic yet harmonious composition. The flowing drapery and the intertwined bodies enhance the tension between stillness and movement, capturing both vulnerability and strength.
