Asterione
Asterione does not ask to be slain, but to be heard. The labyrinth is not a prison — it is the place where the soul encounters itself.
Asterione – Guardian of the Labyrinth presents the Minotaur not as a defeated monster, but as an autonomous archetypal presence. The bust focuses on the head and torso, emphasizing the tension between animality and consciousness, instinctive strength, and silent interiority.
Inspired by archetypal psychology, myth is not a narrative to be overcome, but a living image that speaks to the soul. Asterione is neither a mistake of nature nor an enemy to be destroyed: he is the guardian of the inner labyrinth, compelling the hero to confront what has been repressed or denied.
Suspended between human and animal, the figure is cast in bronze with intense modeling. Its vibrant surface enhances the dialogue between light and shadow, transforming the labyrinth into a psychological space of profound revelation.
